IPR Healthcare System, Inc. started in 1995. Our name, which is always a topic of inquiry means International Professional Resources. Originally, the company recruited medical professionals from overseas to meet the staffing needs of the ever expanding Houston Medical Center. The company continued to use the name IPR although it shifted its operation to home health. IPR survived all the changes in the home health industry since its inception. Aside from the Medicare reimbursement changes, IPR had a change in management and administration in January 1999. The current leadership instilled several changes to meet the demands of the ever changing home health industry. Pabs Caluscos, Administrator and Jo Ann Jones, Director of Nursing, both with several years of experience in the home health industry, started the management of the company. In the middle of 1999, Thomas Roberson joined the company and contributed his several years of home health administrative experience to IPR as its Assistant Administrator. Through the years, several clinical and administrative staff brought in their respective years of experience towards the growing operation of IPR.
IPR's JCAHO Accreditation…
IPR prides itself in continuously improving the quality of service. To show its commitment to quality, IPR applied for JCAHO Accreditation ( Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations). The JCAHO accreditation allows the company to operate at a standard which is nationally accepted and recognized by healthcare organizations. IPR is accredited with "Deemed Status " designation, which means that the company is subjected to unannounced surveys by JCAHO representatives to check and verify compliance to JCAHO standards. In the last JCAHO survey, IPR's overall score is 95% without any Type I Recommendation.
Satisfaction Surveys…
Internally, IPR periodically reviews the results of satisfaction surveys conducted to determine the level of physician and patient confidence in the services we deliver. Our most recent Physician Survey showed that 76.92% were Very Satisfied, 23.08% were Satisfied and 0% were Dissatisfied. Our most recent Patient Satisfaction Survey indicated that 100% of the patients were Very Satisfied to Satisfied. These responses indicate the effectiveness of the programs and processes which we perform in delivering the best care to our patients.
Staff Development…
IPR is also committed to improve the personal and professional quality of life for its employees. The turnover of both clinical and administrative employees is below industry levels. About 95% of the office employees are still with the company since the management change in 1999. Several additional employees hired after 1999 are still employed with IPR.
IPR has put forth several employee benefit programs. IPR established an employee 401K matching plan in 2001. In the early part of 2002, IPR started a Medical/ Health Insurance benefit plan for its employees. Also for 2002, IPR has budgeted and allocated funds for continuing education and training for all its employees. Since then, IPR has been involved in several employee social activities and various community involvement activities with the participation of management and staff.
